Aymen Idris is a pharmacology researcher currently based at the University of Sheffield (England, UK). The focus of his research is the design and testing of anti-inflammatory agents. As an MSc./Ph.D. student and postdoctoral researcher, he carried out significant research on the medicinal and harmful effects of natural and synthetic anti-inflammatory substances, with first-author publications in a number of prestigious scientific journals including Nature and Cell. As a laboratory leader at the universities of Sheffield (England, UK) and Edinburgh (Scotland, UK) his preclinical research has led to the foundation of arthElix Ltd. (est. 2017) and OsteoRX Ltd. (est. 2005) - two start-up companies established to develop anti-rheumatic and anti-metastatic drugs. He is an avid supporter of issues and needs of early-career scientists around the globe, founder and current editor-in-chief and HubLE.org , chair and founder of various initiatives, seminars, committees and networks founded and led by young scientists. Besides science, he is involved in medical and agricultural business activities related his research, and his other passions include bicycle touring around the globe (including Africa), playing the piano and writing/blogging on issues related to his life as a Scientist/Citizen of the Universe.
 
 

Bernard A. Gyabeng

Bernard A. Gyabeng is a research assistant and GIS spatial analyst. He holds a BSc. Geomatics Engineering and Geospatial Science. He is currently based at the School of Geosciences, China University of Petroleum (East China) pursuing MSc. in Geological Engineering. His research focus is on finding optimal pipeline routes for petroleum distribution using GIS and Analytical Hierarchical process. Bernard is zealous about STEM education, harnessing spatial analysis to solving urban problems and honoring leadership roles. Aside the interest in academic research, he is also interested in socio-economic and political analysis. He loves reading, cooking and sport activities.
